BEACH

Saturday we had a great trip to the beach with the Flakes. The weather was mixed bag of sunshine, clouds, sunshine, wind. It was sunny enough for me to sunburn my nose. Not crowded at all for a holiday weekend.

Thomas, Emily, and Porter had the best time having sand fights. It's always fun until someone gets sand in their eyes.

Emily

I love looking at old pictures of our kids. I hate that they are getting old. I have been having a hard time lately because Emily is getting so old. Mostly so sassy. She has really started to care about things like hair and clothes. I guess she is almost nine. I just think of her as a three year old still.

Boy or Girl?

Christopher just got back from a trip to the National Restaurant show in Chicago. Nothing like spending nights eating at nice restaurants and days at a convention with more restaurants shoving delicious food in your face all day. It is all wasted on him because he hates eating out. Send me next year.

So we get up super early this morning so that we can get Emily off to school and Thomas and Allie to grandma's so I can go for my ultra-sound.

Everything was going smoothly until we get to the ultra-sound place. They try telling me they can't do the ultra-sound because they don't have approval from our insurance. After I call the insurance and get things moving (we didn't need the approval) we sit for what seems like hours when you have an extremely full bladder. Finally they call us in. The technichian does her stuff then turned the screen so Chris and I could see the baby. She shows us all of the parts and we still after 3 kids can't tell the eyes from the mouth from the stomach. She tries to get to the good stuff and of course the baby has its butt down against the cervic and refuses to move. She pokes it, I poke it. I shake it. I turn on my side and nothing. It is not going to move. So what we have here is another Emily Jayne. We were very dissapointed. Mostly me and Thomas. I hate surprises and really want to get things ready. Hopefully when I go to my regular appointment I will be able to talk my doctor into doing another ultra-sound so we can know the sex. Oh, our luck!

$10 (this is for you Nate-dog)

Today Allie found some money of mine. I told her to leave alone. She looked at me with determination and said, "I need dollars." What would a three year old need ten dollars for you ask? Well apparently to go to Chucky Cheese to buy pizza. That's what she told me anyhow.

Field Trip

Today was Thomas' school field trip. They went to the tide pools at Laguna. Chris went with him because I was helping out at Emily's school. Lucky for them the barfing happened before the kids were all on the bus. Something about buses make kids sick. They must have had a good time because Tom was home about 10 minutes before he conked out. He certainly is his father's child.

Would trust your life with this?

Oh, to be 3 years old again. To have all of the confidence in the world, but hands that are "too tiny" pick up toys and various wrappers. Today I asked Allison to tell Emily that we needed to pick up Thomas from school. She told me "you do it and I'll drive, you can sit in the back, I'm a good driver." Judging from her golf cart driving skills, I don't think I am quite ready to hand over the keys.

Super "T"

Today after church we went to Grandma Sue's for lunch. It was such a nice day we were outside playing with the kids. Emily ("T") decided to skim the pool. She was up on the wall (#6 for those of you that know Grandma Sue's pool) skimming away and Allie decided that she should join her. Allie has been climbing along those walls since before she could walk and we have never had any accidents. Not so lucky today. Emily knocked Allie into the deep end of the freezing cold pool with the pole of the skimmer. So in goes Allie, banana and all. We are glad that Emily jumped in immediately after her and swam her to the edge! Lucky for Allie she still was holding her banana and was able to finish it off. Are you still considered a hero if you are the one that caused the accident in the first place?

Okay, I am pretty proud of myself. I have been wanting to figure out how to make these car seat covers and Brooke let me try it out on Baby Jane's. I must say the canopy thinging turned out awesome. I need to do some work on the seat cover, but all said I am pretty happy. ( i need to pay attention to where the straps go.)

Thomas or Tiger?

Grandma and Grandpa Kendig gave Tom a set of golf clubs. They are really cool. He will tell you he has a wood, an iron and a putter. He likes to go to Grandma's and practice. He claims Grandpa is going to take him golfing in Palm Springs.

We took the kids to the park by Grandma's so Tom could hit some balls on the soccer field. Chris decided to give it a try and fired one into someone's yard. Needless to say we had to high tail it out of there.
